An understated rendition of Tinker Hatfield's 1989 design can be found on the Air Jordan 4 Retro "Taupe Haze." The collar, tongue, and mudguard are made of a combination of cracked leather and textured suede, giving the upper a dark taupe look. The Jumpman emblem is embossed on the heel tab, plastic wings, and laces, all of which are contrasted with black hits. On the tongue tag, a second Jumpman icon that matches the tongue's internal lining is shown in infrared. A two-tone PU midsole with an exposed Air unit in the heel and encapsulated Air in the forefoot provides lightweight cushioning.
